Tonight is the Second Ever NumbBlowMe Open...

Unlike the first one, this one is TURBO (so it won't take 7 hours to finish).

A smallish turnout of 13 for the HORSE Event of the NYRPS.

In typical HORSE fashion, the Final Table was strenuous. It took forever but we finally got down to the final 3 of NumbBono, drunkenmonkey87 and Me.

drunkenmonkey was sitting out and a very short stack but was able to squeeze into the bubble when I sucked out on chitwood (K4 > AK) who was also a short stack.

Finally, me and Numb were heads up (just like NYRPS Event #4, the PL Hold 'em) and on air Numb told me I had better finish him off in Hold 'em (my strength) before it got to the other games (his strengths).

So I did, the final hand being A-7 hitting trips vs. his King High.

I jump to third, but still behind TheSlinger in my prop bet with the CP Guys. iaatg maintains his lead.

I also take another seat away from the TOC with my second win.

NYRPS Event #9: Ride The HORSE!

Tonight is Event #9 of the NYRPS: $11 Double Stack HORSE.

Ship the Skillz!

For most of the first hour of the tournament I was around the starting stack. The second hour I dropped a few then took a bunch of chips from Champ in Razz, then started my bounty hunter mission as the blinds took off. At the second break I had a slight chip lead, but I went nuts in the Stud part of the third hour, then went on a bounty mission at the final table during Hold 'em and Omaha. I wound up with 9 Bounties in the end, after a grueling 4 handed session at the final table, I finally got heads up with nzgreen, and in the second razz hand, we got it all in on sixth... I had 97, he had 98, and he paired on the river, and I got the $80 first prize shipped!

It's About The Game... Again.

16 people ponied up the money for the 8th event in the NYRPS. This week it was Pot Limit HA (Hold 'em and Omaha Hi Mix). I finished right in the middle, going out in 8th after QQK3 one suit fell to KKxx (forgot other cards but there was a K hi flush draw).

The final three were newcomer laudgal, and regulars iaatg6296 and TheSlinger.

The Final Results Were:

iaatg finally adds on to his Event #1 win and takes a big lead in the standings and takes a seat away in the TOC.

Tonight we will have our eighth NYRPS Event of the Series: Pot Limit HA (Hold 'em and Omaha Hi Mix Game)

Last Year, Loretta8 went on an epic run playing almost every single hand, and winning the tournament using the unique style. This year, there is now a Double Stack involved, so it may not be as easy as it was last year, but we shall see.

I Cashed? + NYRPS Event #7

Yes, It's been a while, but I decided to play the $26 HORSE tournament last night. I played games with my family for the early part of the evening and had a Token to burn, so I decided to play the emptyman Special. On Friday I played the NumbBono Special, and Bubbled. It looked like I was gonna bubble again, but I chopped 3 all-in pots in a row in Omaha Hi-Lo (taking the hi each time) to withstand the bubble, I then was able to take some chips when I was dealt good hands in Razz, and had a decent shot to double up in Stud when this hand happened.

All folded to me after the bring-in, I completed with (22)3 2 diamonds. Next to act called with a 4 up. Bring-in Folded. Fourth gave me an offsuit 10, villain a 5. We got all our chips in and he had hit his 5 with (A5)45, I had (22)3T. Going to Seventh, He still only had the 5s and no draws, I had a flush draw. I hit 2 pair with a 6, but he hit 2 pair with a 7 and sent me home in 20th, for a cash of $44.

FTR, emptyman did finish 3rd in that event that he owns so hard. Good Job!

Tonight is Event #7 in the NYRPS, and it's Heads-Up No Limit Hold 'em. $11 buy-in, 32 player max, password is 'epicfail'. Find it at Tournament #67601559.

As of 11:30AM, 3 people are in, and the interest in this tournament is high, so get in before we get to 32!

Goals for 2009

This will be short and sweet, and I'll be making fun of myself come 2010... but whatev.

1. Win a 1000+ player MTT
2. Go on a Date (it's been 14 months... I need to get out more)
3. Win 2 Bloggerments (this includes my own of course)
4. Win a BBT4 Bloggerment (Loretta's run in the TOC inspired me to do this if there was a BBT4, and it looks like there will be)
5. Meet at least one blogger IRL. (Odds are more likely to be a New Yorker, but I may attend the Vegas Gathering, so we shall see)
6. Cash in a Live Tournament (This means playing in a Live Tournament, which when I go to AC, I'm not really inspired to do since I suck at 'em (only cashed once) and that I crush the 2/4 Limit games (so much so that i go above the 10% rake)) <~~~ wow that's a lot of parenthesis on this one
7. Win 2 Prop Bets (any prop bet... I was good at last longers with the CP guys last year)
8. Have 3K saved up in my bank account at any time (I'm really pushing myself for this one)

The Curse is Broken

The Pot Limit Omaha Dime Rebuy Tournament of the NYRPS brought 20 people. Those 20 people rebought a total of 1078 times! Each of them added on and with the 20 dimes already in the prize pool for the buy-in, that brought the total prize pool to $111.80. The top 3 would get paid money and points...
